Hi I'm new and I have a question for you right of the bat... Does anyone know of some software or videos for helping singers improve basic skills, like singing in pitch for example?
Thankyou MusicLife

I'm sure there's some out there, but it would probably be american. However I don't think any software could replace the skills of a teacher.

Yes I see, I agree with you completely but I'm still interested to see what others might think. Couldn't software be used to augment the teacher, as a tool I mean and not a replacement. Your Thoughts?

Not a specific singing programme, but my version of Band in A Box 2005 (a chord and accompaniment programme) has a tuner (to see exactly how in tune you are!!) and an interval recognition programme to improve aural awareness and interval training. I do intend to use it to help students to help in my lessons and to give a bit of variety as well.

I think there is an aural training program from Sibelius Music called Aurelia - might be worth a look.

This site helps train your ear, so it might help. In the end you will need feedback about whether you are singing in tune, and I can't think of anything other than a human tutor really being useful there.
Hey thanks for your comments. I have heard of auralea by sibelius but I don't know very much about it. How does it compare to voice teaching programs like SingingCoach from Carry-A-Tune
