Hi Kenshin Kid

The no text talk request is because the forum has members from all over the world and of all ages. Many of the older generation would be struggling to work out messages in text talk ( no offence to that age group, I am sure some are text talk savy) smile.gif
It is a simple rule out of courtsy and consideration for all ages and races so that we can all enjoy the forum. A text expression in the UK might not even mean the same in another country. I can remember being really shocked when a US friend referred to 'fanny bag' for one of those waist pouch things rolleyes.gif The meaning I knew of the word fanny was quite different ohmy.gif someone could be unintentionally rude or insulting.

So that's the explanation

I suppose it's really saying - use full spellings etc not abbreviations - maybe not everyone can understand plz as meaning 'please' for example.

None taken, just as some of the younger generation struggle with some of the words older folk use like 'you' and 'are', sometimes 'the' and 'and'. 'Please' is an obsolete term.

I have to use it but I don't like txt talk or txting people. I'm much happier talking using voice. I'm afraid that face-to-face contact between people will soon die out as people leave their homes less and less.

Yep. Going through adolescence, I'm at the stage where I rarely get out, mainly because I can't be bothered to. Next will be "Going out too much" stage and then the "serious relationships" stage.

All part of life.
