Full Version: More Small-group Pieces?

I'm just posting this before going off on my holiday, so I won't be able to reply to anyone's queries for a week, but I thought I'd leave those who are coming to the September concert with a small task while I'm away. tongue.gif

As you know, there were six available slots in the concert for small-group pieces (duets, trios etc). At one stage, all of these were provisionally booked, but a couple of those haven't come to fruition for various reasons, so I still have two slots available for any other groups.

At the moment we have a piano duet, a flute group of indeterminate size, a clarinet and bassoon duet and a piece for voice, recorder and piano. It would be REALLY nice to have a couple more items, so here is the current list of participants - perhaps you can PM/email each other to see if you have any ideas, and give me a nice surprise when I get back! I don't mind if people are in more than one of these groups, but would prefer it if they played a different instrument in each one if possible, just for variety!

Andy-piano-flute, Janexxx (violin), Stumac (piano), Fen (piano), noisybassoon, andante-in-c (flute), pinkoi (cello), Deborah (clarinet), Suepea (piano, cello), carys (clarinet, viola), Katyjay (voice), CMuscutt (piano), Fred (clarinet), thouston (voice), Amber (voice), margaret (piano) and me. Several people play more instruments than I have put down, eg. recorders, piano

NB If anyone else thinks that they have already booked, I haven't received any more forms than from the people mentioned, so get in touch with me please - I don't trust the post at all nowadays... ph34r.gif

I hope that in a week's time you'll all be able to come up with something. biggrin.gif
Bye for now!

Anyone fancy a one-to-a-part recorder ensemble? I've no specific ideas, but that might be the easiest to put together as we'd all be playing different instruments from our main ones. PM me if you're interested, stating which recorders you play, and I'll see what we come up with. smile.gif

Jo's back from her holiday very soon, and no-one's come up with anything yet. I've had no replies to my suggestion of a recorder consort-type piece (although I have thought of a piece - SopSATB if anyone's interested).

Can we try and put something together for Jo? Pretty please? smile.gif

Yes, here I am smile.gif
Thanks for your efforts, andante - perhaps a lot of the others are away on their holidays too... Katyjay and thouston have arranged to do a vocal duet, so we have five items now.

Only four more days till the deadline, and then I can finalise the programme. Not very long till the concert!

Hope you all have a good day... pity I'm on holiday then sad.gif

We could always sing a pentatonic canon!! You can tell I've been at the Kodaly summer school for a week.
Seriously my recorder skills may well be best in a larger group than 1 to a part. I can play the cello though (a bit) so if anyone wants to lend me a cello (I'm not trying to bring mine as hand luggage!) I'll have a go at a multi-instrumental duet/trio/quartet.. with some others....?? dry.gif

Pity I can't be there. I got a new treble recorder in Salzburg and I'm playing grade 8 pieces already.

Yes Andrea, we can tell you've been at the Kodaly Summer School!

Hope all works well. biggrin.gif

Andy-piano-flute, I wish you'd take that last line off your signature! I don't want you to be worrying about the concert - just think of it as a chance for a big musical get-together with friends. You'll be fine! smile.gif

Andrea, if you can manage a week at Kodaly, you can manage a forums concert!

I think the problem is that those of us who are willing are doing rather a lot already, and don't want to feel we're taking over. unsure.gif

Just seen your new last-line-of-signature, Andrea - that's the spirit! I'm really looking forward to meeting the Forums members I haven't seen before - and saying hello again to the ones I have! tongue.gif

Andante - yes, I'd have been happy to be in your recorder consort, but I'm in two of the small-group things already, and I felt it would seem rather greedy if I was in yet another one! ph34r.gif
