I have taken up the flute again after a 20 year break - I'm nearly 40! Loving it and I enjoy the time to myself, rather than looking after kids (bless them!)

Is there anyone else from New Zealand out there who is learning music again? We can be isolated over here but forums like this make the world seem a smaller place.

Must go back to my practice, my daughter is asleep so I have to make the most of the time.

Keep playing everyone! smile.gif

I'm a Kiwi, in NZ at present, and a former flute player...sad to say more like 30 years than 20 since I practiced regularly! I do play a simple system wooden flute sometimes now, which has not made me a virtuoso on wooden flute, but has my fingers so completely confused that I now dither no matter which flute I'm playing.... ph34r.gif

Hello Kiwi-flute
I am definately not an adult learner because I am only 12 yrs old but I am a Kiwi so I thought I'd say hello and welcome anyway smile.gif
I live in Auckland.
My Mum is a real beginer - she has just started the piano, from scratch, encouraged by people she read were adult learners on these forums. She is only just putting two hands together rolleyes.gif but I'm proud of her.

Hi guys, good to see some fellow NZ'ers. These forums are great, pleased I found them!

I like the username - nice pun!
I grew up in Wellington but have since moved back to the UK. Trying very hard to educate people over here that the thing you eat is a kiwifruit and that a "kiwi" is a bird... hey ho..

All the best linking up with some other down under musicians.
