First off, this isnt a "For Sale" post!

My father has decided he wants to sell his clarinet, and as he no longer plays (hasnt for many years), and i know NOTHING about clarinets, i was wondering if i cuold have someone give me some sort of idea about what it is worth?

It's a Boosey and Hawkes Emporer Clarinet. It's ebony and silver, good condition ( i think! It's been sat in a case for many years!)

serial number: 476883

I hope i am abiding by forum RoC by posting this, i would just like to have an idea of what it is worth, so that he does not end up being swindled. I think it would be worth a fair amount, but once again, i'm not really to sure about these things!

Many thanks, in advance

Jamie

Can you take it to a clarinet maker person for a valuation?
Deborah
If you're near a big town or city, take it into your music shop for a valuation. Factors such as condition and demand would influence the second-hand value. Oh, and whatever they quote you, don't expect to get that much if you sell it on e-bay.
