which instruments have you enjoyed playing (any type of instrument)

mine would have to be
1 bach stradivarius trumpet - my current trumpet and boy do i love it!!! lovely sound. really easy valves and great on the high notes.
2 besson 700 cornet,- a very nice cornet - shame i quit the band that were loaning it to me- lovely trigger movement - not to heavy - a good all round cornet.
3 casio ct-6000 - despite being really heavy and old this is a no nonsense keyboard - but dispite its age has a very realistic sound - it is very sinple - with no key to press to change instruments and no fiddling with buttons to transpose- just a simple slide bar - it also has a lovely pitch bend with gliss and slide options - and you can choose how far the pitch can be bent as well
- there are my favourite instruments, please add yours...

Yes....I second that!! Apart from the trumpet sound, laugh.gif - The pitch bend rocks!!

Buffet B12 Clarinet Rocks....

Boosey and Hawkes Sovereign flugel - this also rocks, although the valves are a little rattley...
jonscott14
true - the trumpet sound on that is a bit naff- but the pitch bend is fun!!!
Rosie_piano_cello
I played a Bluthner concert grand piano once... *dreams* rolleyes.gif That was the most GORGEOUS piano I've ever played...
Oddball
We have a Bluthner Grand at school....it's a baby grand though. It's so-so.
Rosie_piano_cello
I've played 3 Steinway grands in my time and the Bluthner WAY surpassed any of them...
jonscott14
CAUGH CAUGH -!!!!RUBBISH!! -CAUGHT !!!!!
that piano is dire - it's terrible out of tune odball- eva wondered why miss O broght ner electric in for bugsy??
Rosie_piano_cello
Why is it they never tune school pianos??? It makes me angry... dry.gif
Oddball
Yeah, the touch is shocking too. It's a horrid colour.... and plays like a tank laugh.gif

True. I hated her piano, such a pain to assemble, even the master of flatpacking Miss Keeley couldn't do it, lol...
Rosie_piano_cello
Lol! If you call something out of tune and that plays like a tank "so-so", then I dread to think what kind of pianos you're used to playing! blink.gif laugh.gif
jonscott14
I AGGREE- we only tried 4 times - annd then she said dont worry - just when we'd got it right - she then pu tit on the table for the rest of the week grrrrrrr!!!!!

Lol, school pianos really aren't great are they? Someone managed to remove the mechanism for the sustain pedal on one of ours. dry.gif I dread to think what mark I'm going to get for GCSE performing. If only I could think of a way to take my own piano to school... You know, I think I might try and invent the world's first ever folding acoustic piano... laugh.gif
Oddball
Cool! Is there any chance you can record it at home?? It would benefit you more....that's if you've got the equipment.....

Removed the sustaining mechanism? blink.gif Wow....now they're either a really good piano engineer or a chav gave it a good hard kick just above the pedals and snapped the rod lol

By the way that folding piano idea is copyrighted...might add that to my signature actually! biggrin.gif

I've got the stuff to record it home (my brother has practically set up his own recording studio in the back of our house!), but I think you have to have the teacher see you do it or something, so I don't think I can unfortunately.

Well the actual pedal's gone missing! God knows how they've done it! blink.gif I hope they're enjoying their sustain pedal anyway...

By the way, looking at your profile, are you in the ATC? Just curious if you might possibly know one of my friends from Devon because he goes up to Wiltshire with the ATC sometimes...
Oddball
How cool is that?? If I see a sustaining pedal on ebay, I'll let you know, hehe.

And indeed yes, I am. Do you know his rank and squadron number?
Rosie_piano_cello
Yeah, it'd be useful if you could keep an eye open for me... I could incorporate it into my prototype model for my folding piano! tongue.gif

Give me two minutes and I'll ask him what squadron thingy he's in. He's on MSN right now.
Oddball
Cool laugh.gif

If he was at the Dartmoor training at Okehampton a few years back, I should recognise him....
Rosie_piano_cello
He says he's Cdt Hughes , classification senior and squadron number 1322. Mean anything to you? There's some photos of him on his MSN space if you want to have a look.
Oddball
Doesn't ring and bells at all....wonder if he recognises me...which I doubt....

Cdt Evans (A) Classification leading and squadron number 68 (Westbury).
Rosie_piano_cello
he seems to think your name rings a bell... this is the link to his space where I think there's some photos of him - http://spaces.msn.com/members/typhoon-space/

it'd be pretty cool if you knew each other!
Rosie_piano_cello
go into the photo album and look under just random photos (at the bottom). He's the one sticking his thumb up and making one of his really weird faces, lol
Oddball
I can't get through via that link...this could be fiddly laugh.gif
Rosie_piano_cello
can't you copy and paste it?
Oddball
Yes, but he's taken the link from his point of view, which I can't get through by.....Anyway, I must go...I have...cadets laugh.gif

Byee - I'll have a look at this later when I'm back. smile.gif
Rosie_piano_cello
cool, have fun!! biggrin.gif
contick87546
my best instrument would have to be my stradivarius cello with a tourte bow (sits at computer desk wishing this dream was true continues dreaming for ten minutes)
Rosie_piano_cello
Oooh, another cellist! biggrin.gif There really aren't enough on these forums! I'm sharing your dream! biggrin.gif *sigh*
Symphony
I played an altus solid silver flute with a Willy SImmons headjoint during this summer ... and fell in love ... Currently saving to buy myself a tiger eye willy simmons headjoint they are simply divine.

Played two grand Steinways before ..... Dreamy and sexual is all I can say.

And, a Rudall Carte keyless wooden piccolo .. mmmhmmm the sound was just orgasmic

So there really is a subconcious reason why some people are drawn to woodwind instruments? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
Oddball
This is getting dodgy blink.gif

I was going to say that I love my Buffet B12 but, having just read the last few comments, I don't think I will! unsure.gif
