want to know how many instruments do you have and which part of your home do you fit them in.
i have an upright piano, a flute, a clarinet, 1 treble and 2 descent recorders, 1 acoustic and 1 electric guitars and 1 harmonica. i need to fix all of them in to my very small bedroom(but i like them to be in my bedroom) and also millions of sheets music and music books(can't stop buying!!!), guitar amp, music stand, lots of accessories and billions of cds(can't stop buying)!!! which make me cannot not find an area left to put some other things in there.
do you have the same problem as me?

Probably just as well. You'd need to move the orchestra to get the people in!

Too many and counting.....running out of space rapidly.
At the last count it was.....
3 violins
2 cellos
2 violas
1 oboe
1 clarinet
1 flute
1 digital piano - rarely used because my pianistic skills are almost non-existent, but it's useful for bashing out a few chords or running through an awkward melodic line.
...more sheet music and orchestral scores than possibly Chappell's and Britten's put together,
...a mountain of CD's
...and a multitude of spare violin cases.
Result: overcrowded and chaotic...but then again...a tidy house is the sign of a very boring occupant...or maybe someone who can afford a cleaner to keep things tidy for them.

Result: overcrowded and chaotic...but then again...a tidy house is the sign of a very boring occupant...or maybe someone who can afford a cleaner to keep things tidy for them.
In descending order of size (approximately!):
1 piano
1 Celtic (level) harp (or clarsach)
1 viola
1 violin
1 glockenspiel
1 clarinet
1 flute (silver)
1 flute (blue, made out of drainpipe!)
4 recorders (2 trebles, 1 descant (currently on loan) 1 tenor)
1 penny whistle
more music/strings/rosin/cases/assorted paraphernalia than you could shake a reasonably sized stick at.
I think that's all. It all lives in the living room. I recently passed on my random collection of African instruments (mostly unwanted things passed on to me by relatives!) to the local primary school along with a little set of coloured tuned bells, but I think I'm doing ok for instruments at the moment...

Right. Let's see:
3 flutes (Powell, Trevor James, Yamaha)
1 piccolo (anon Chinese, absolute rubbish, would buy a better one if I were in an orchestra)
1 sopranino recorder
6 1/2 descant recorders (one missing a body, one chewed by dog)
4 treble recorders
1 tenor recorder
1 bass recorder
1 set of panpipes
2 penny whistles
1 Yamaha fife
1 upright piano
1 set of 16 handbells
Also in music room, but not mine:
1 alto sax
2 guitars (one classical, one acoustic)
1 xylophone
1 set Australian percussion thingies
Elsewhere in house:
2-3 electric guitars
1 bass guitar
1 very nice Ovation acoustic guitar with pick-up (my husband's)
1 half-size violin
1 Yamaha keyboard
And I think that's it!

I have:
1 Digital keyboard (in bedroom, used to be my Nanna's but I've inherited it while she's in a nursing home)
1 Bassoon (in bedroom, it's a rental, currently lonely as I can't hold it up let alone play it right now

)
2 Descant Recorders (in bedroom, actually belong to brothers #1 & #2, but they don't play so I "stole" them)
1 Treble Recorder (in bedroom, borrowed from my boyfriend's dad)
Brother #1 has:
1 Trombone (inhabits his bedroom and he only practices when I'm trying to do composition!)
Brother #2 has:
1 Euphonium (inhabits wherever he puts it down)
We also used to have an electric organ.
I plan to add some more recorders to my list, as well. When I get enough money...

2 violins- in the living room under a chair next to the piano

3 French horns- 2 on the floor in the study and 1 in the hall near the front door
1 descant recorder- in the piano stool
And a kazoo, if that counts, in my sister's desk, and a multitude of 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 size violins with the horns in the study!

My Dad bought mine, i cant remember how much it was...i bought it in Changchun, i think it was about 200 yuan (correct me if this seems out of proportion, im really not sure!) I don't know about teachers, i bought a load of books and teach myself when i have time...the hardest thing about it is that you have to learn where the notes are (you'll get my drift if you look at a pic of an erhu!) You just place your fingers on any old bit of the strings until you get used to it! I only started playing when i realised i had to do a performance in something for my chinese school the next week and realised they didnt have a piano!
