Recently I've found that after doing my warm up I'm at a loss as to what to practice, as I'm bored with what I have already. I also need to start work on an audition piece for when I go to Uni in September, but without any interesting repertoire to alternate my audition piece with, I'm just bored.

Any suggestions of good studies out there for horn, and repertoire advice from fellow horn players would be greatly appreciated.

Derek bourgeois fantasy pieces....they are designed for entrance into the National YOuth Orchestra, and he wrote a book, containing 9 studies for every instrument. They are really good, and even if you are the next dennis Brain or David Pyatt, the final 5 or 6 are gonna give you a challenge

He wrote pieces for other instruments too? ooh. Interesting.

there's always the good old stuff out of the arban - which is very entertaining - and much more difficult on horn
