Spanish names for the computer....

A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish,
unlike
English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.

House" for instance, is feminine: "la casa."
"Pencil" however, is masculine: "el lapiz."

A student asked, "What gender is a computer?" Instead of giving
the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and
female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether computer should be a masculine or a feminine
noun.
Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that computer should definitely be of
the feminine gender (la computer) because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic.

2. The native language they use to communicate with other
computers is incomprehensible to everyone else.

3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval.

4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.
(No chuckling.. this gets better!)

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be
Masculine (el computer) because:

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on.

2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves.

3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem.

4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had
waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

The women won.

hm,

the women have a better appreciation of the male than the males, women.

of course you have to turn men on - and hope the internal battery hasnt run down or they wont boot up properly.

strange tho. wasn't the computer invented by a man called cabbage or something? i know it wasn't caulifower but one of those veggies. a man also invented telly and the tft screen the transistor the phone, MP3 ipod sound and video recording, cars, the piano, saxophone and bagpipes most like. and the rest. women havent invented much at all reely except non-mathematical & anti-boolean argument.

so maybe men shouldve kept these things to themselves. lol
or did they invent them to confound females?

So you're saying that women invented illogical argument? (Smirk!) They do have a strange way of justifying themselves. In the UK last year they spent roughly £8 billion on cosmetic preparations of which 99% did absolutely nothing.

sad.gif Men are said to be catching up.

Which by the way reminds me of Marion Smith's remark - Can you imagine a world without men? No crime and lots of happy, fat women.

I find it interesting how some men spend hours in the bathroom (my brother-in-law!) and some only 5 minutes (hubby!)

nice theory but how are the women going to get fat? will they go out to hunt, kill the animals, skin them, gut them then complain they haven't any matches to light a fire? will they invent crime nicking corn seed from others who have some then wait a year perhaps two for it to grow?
lol.
but yes, a nice world no cars no television or radio, planes, no electric instruments no electricity no saxophones no pianos and with tradeswomen in very short supply, no houses and men wouldn't have to go through the nuisance of...... never mind!!!
no yowling babies to disturb the potential serenity at least.
