Here are your choices (in no particular order,as usual) for the Most Imaginative Meal Maker in the ABRSM Platinum Blend Forum Café© Awards! Please take your time to choose the person you think most deserving of the award because you only get to click and pick one! Take note:- voting on this online poll ends at midnight Sunday 4th of September BST! Have fun.

EDIT:- Whoops! Are we having daylight saving now then? Ahh.. never mind. An hour early won't hurt I guess

RE-EDIT:- It's ok! When I posted this, the time showed 11.51pm and it got me worried for a bit. But I'll still like to know if there is daylight-saving.

Interesting choices. I can't decide between two of them!

Not that I want to influence anyone or anything, but if you vote for me I will cook a special meal for you. But that's more of a threat than an enticement I guess.

You don't see previous votes till you have made your own, so I don't think so (unless people are getting others to look for them!)

Maybe we should stop commenting on the votes, so that people will not have a clue how it's going. This is getting crazy.

It is possible to see the results before you vote. I have seen them every day and I have'nt voted yet.

Sep 1 2005, 06:13 PM
How come? Is it because you post a msg, and that allows you to see?
noodle
Sep 1 2005, 06:15 PM
No. There are two options - either 'vote' or 'show results'. If you choose 'show results' you can see the result before you vote. Have a look at some of the other polls that you have't voted on and you'll see what I mean.

you can see the results before you sign on.
i think if you choose to show results you can't vote after that. but if you haven't voted or shown results just sign off to see them.
yep just signed off. saw the votes are 7/7/8/7/8 then signed on and it's asked me to vote in the poll, no results shown.

ooh arent we just the clever one. yes you can if you click "vote options" afterwards. it tried it out as i wasn't going to vote in this poll but i still could
upshot is you can see the results be4 you vote

Oh right... the only time I did that I assumed it was a case of if you were asking to been shown the results, you were abstaining from voting. I only do that on polls I don't want to vote on.

The confusion arises because on the old forum (i.e. before it was revamped) the option was 'view results (null vote)' and one then couldn't vote; with the new forum this has been improved so that the button now says 'show results' and when one has seen the results one can click 'vote options' to get back to it (not sure of the exact wording on the buttons but I can't be bothered to check since I've already voted here and would have to find another poll...). This is probably why some people had one experience and some had another; it depends on the last time that they tried it.

WobbyLettuce à la Trebor
Step 1 - Take lettuce
Step 2 - Burn lettuce
Step 3 - Burn remains
It's tough, I suggest that beginners leave out Step 3

Take 50mg of Valium
Grind in a pestle until a it becomes a fine powder
Take 1 oz of soft butter and cream together with the ground valium
(If you want to make this mixture in bulk for particularly stressful periods then multiply up the ingredients and keep the mixture (suitably labelled) in the fridge)
Prepare 2 slices of toast by grilling bread to your liking
Spread butter and valium mixture on the toast
Dish can be garnished with sprigs of lavender and best served with hot camomile tea for most efficaciousness

This is per person - so multiply the quantities by however many people you're catering for:
EGGLESS OMELETTE
1. Take 3 freshly laid air-eggs, from organic free-range air-chickens.
2. Whisk and cook gently over low heat in air-fryingpan.
See, easy when you know how.

Mmmmm sounds scrumptious!

I'll have to try all these dishes when I have friends over for tea, maybe save the valium on toast for last!

Yay! Woooo! [air punching with both arms]
Thank you my darlings. Thank you. Thank you.
I'd just like to thank my mommy and my pop, my sister Moonshine and my brother Raygun. And I wouldn't be here today without the support of my teacher from third grade, my headmaster, my pet Koala Cheechie and my seven goldfish. And my children, who've tirelessly made their own pizzas since the age of three so that I could spend time creating my own special masterpieces in the kitchen.
And I'd like to thank my husband and Manager David, my PR and my entourage of staff. Ricki for keeping my hair so nicely under my chef's hat, Soosie for keeping my nails so beautifully manicured, so that those close up shots of my hands kneading dough look oh so hygienic yet strangely arousing.
My next door neighbours, their next door neighbours, and their next door neighbours, the people down the street, the people in the street opposite ours, the people in the rest of the town.
And most of all I'd like to thank you, my wonderful, wonderful Forum customers, staff and friends. Yes I'd like to think of us all as very special friends, all joining together in the virtual creation of culinary magic.........
[stops short as a Concert Grand Purple Steinway is dropped on me from a great height]
