Can anyone tell me (asap) if the top of yourear gets freezed before it is pierced with a gun. i know it does when it is done with a needle but not sure when it's done with a gun?????
I have had the top of my ear pierced several times... well 4 anyway... and my best advice would be not to have it pierced with a gun atall...
Goto a propper piercers, who will pierce it with a sterile needle for you and put proper good quality jewlry into it. They have to go through alot more stringent health and safety checks than someone with an ear piercing gun in a hairdressers. There is a danger that ear piercing with a gun can pass on hepititus as the guns them selves are rarely cleaned even if the studs are sterile. Also the gun makes quite a loud clicking noise when its that close to your ear... The last time i had my ear pieced with a gun it caused me to jump and the earing didnt go in as straight as it should have.
needles are much much safer and while i found it a little more painfull the piercing healed much better.
Piercing guns were never ment for piercing cartaledge and they can quite easily split the carteledge as they fource thier way through. The needle actully cuts neatly through the cartelege your less likely to have a huge lump left behind your ear.
as for freezing your ear a propper piercer should be able to do that for you, but its really not that bad. It hurts at the second you are having it done, but you are having a bit of metal rammed through your ear, part of me thinks i/you/we deserve it if your going to get that done. None of the places i know that pierce with guns have the facility to numb the ear anyway..
Hope this helps
