Is it possible to change a music file from a real player file to a media player file?

If you have Audacity you can change it to an MP3 format, which means it could play on Windows Media Player.

Windows media is wav i think so you could just export it as wav instead of mp3 on audacity...

Yes, that is right, you could do either. Mp3 is a smaller size though.

It says how to do this somewhere in the immense Yahoo Groups thread. I think it goes as follows:

1) Open Real Player with the file open you want to convert
2) Open Audacity
3) Pick 'Stereo Mixer' or 'Wave' instead of 'Microphone', just below the toolbar
4) Hit record
5) Switch back to real player, play the track
6) When the track has finished go back to Audacity
7) Then, trim the seconds off the start and end from when you were switching.

According to the homepage: yes.

Where can I get it from? BEcause if it works on Win 98 then I will find it very useful. All of the other programs that I have previously found either have to be bought, or only run on 2000 upwards.
