hi! (again)

just randomly thinking of all the topics we can start, and thought that we could share new or crazy methods that will help improve different things, like range, tongueing etc.

my favourite is the pencil thing, very disturbing!

Yeah the pencil technique is fantastic - really helps me (try it each day on the train).

For anyone who doesn't know, the pencil technique is a way of improving stamina & overall embouchure strength. All you do is try and hold a pen/pencil using just your lips, and try and keep the pen/pencil as horizontally straight as possible.

Works a treat!

Any other techniques out there?

Thinking of good methods, i like John O'Niells Jazz Method for Trumpet. The series was originally for saxophone but now also incorporates clarinet and flute as well. The only one missing now is trombone. I doubt he'll publish an edition for trombone though sad.gif Not enough of us out there.
