Gday. Just out of curiosity, which is your favourite jazz pianist.
For me it would be Herbie Hancock because of the amazing music he produces and his skills as a composer and musician.

Duke Ellington. Studied him in AS music and think his achievements as composer and performer are outstanding.

How about Nat King Cole? Everyone seems to forget he was an astonishing jazz pianist, I heard some of his early stuff and was blown away!

Don't know that much of jazz pianists, but I voted Thelonious Monk.
I once tuned a piano for Chick Corea and adjusted the right pedal to his wishes. He's a very gentle man, but still not my very favourite jazz pianist.

Your poll has an amazing omission. I quote from the Penguin Encyclopedia of Popular Music:
"TATUM, Art (b 13 Oct. '09, Toledo, Ohio; d 5 Nov. '56, L.A.) Pianist, without doubt the greatest in the history of jazz, his astonishing technique admired by everyone else who played the instrument, including Vladimir Horowicz. Virtually blind from birth; ..."
Oscar Peterson, for whom I voted, was another admirer.
