Please does anyone know what a slur mark with a small vertical line through it means (my teacher doesn't know)?

Isn't that where there wasn't a slur on the original copy but the editors added it in because they felt there should be one?

Wow Nat - that was quick - sounds good to me!

Its an editorial slur, ie put in by the editor not the composer.

Maybe the composer meant to have a slur, or if it is early music assumed the player would know to slur anyway. Or maybe the editor is wrong??? Make your own mind up if you agree with it
