Please does anyone know what a slur mark with a small vertical line through it means (my teacher doesn't know)?

Thanks in anticipation smile.gif

Isn't that where there wasn't a slur on the original copy but the editors added it in because they felt there should be one?

Its an editorial slur, ie put in by the editor not the composer.

Maybe the composer meant to have a slur, or if it is early music assumed the player would know to slur anyway. Or maybe the editor is wrong??? Make your own mind up if you agree with it smile.gif
