Full Version: Being Relaxed When Playing The Flute - How?

Hi!
I had my last lesson on Friday, and she says that my RH wrist is too tense, and thus this means my finger position isn't how it should be, with me having to stretch to get the hole next to the little finger key covered, and it means that my 4th finger on my RH is straight rather than curved.
Any suggestions?

Is your thumb in the right place- behind the flute, pushing it forward? Is the problem with your wrist or with your shoulder/elbow position?

My thumb is fine I think. I think the problem is that my wrist isn't bent enough, and when I am playing, it doesn't really want to go how it is supposed to!
