How do I get faster at my double tonguing because its just not working at the minute when I try.

Double tounging takes so much practice. It takes at least a few months to be able to do it really well. Practice "lazy tonguing" where you do D-G on minims on crotchet = 60, until you can't hear the difference. Also, instead of doing hard syllables like D-G, do Doo-Goo, this will help.
