I voted oboe because I love the sound, but I wish I could have voted twice because I love the clarinet too- it's just so versatile, and I love the way you can ply it really really quietly!(Mozart's Clarinet Concerto- aaaaahhhhh

Hi!
My favorite woodwind instrument is the piccolo. I like it the most beacause of my main instrument, the bass tuba. It´s nice to switch between them, as it makes a very good contrast(when I get bored of practicing the tuba, I just switch and play the piccolo, trying to extend my range). I just love this instrument!

I like the cor anglais (tenor oboe) with its rich low tone but as an oboe player I do like the sound of a normal oboe as well.
Try listening to the Largo from The New World Symphony by Dvorak this is probably one of the well known pieces written for cor anglais.

I voted for the flute because I love playing it but my friend plays the clarinet and I think it has a lovely sound. Do you play the piccolo the same as you play the flute, or is the fingering a bit different?

The fingerings the same for the flute and picc its your embouchure that you have to change!
Tell me about it Im doing grade 8 in June!! Dont get me started on scales!! Im really annoyed coz I can do them all apart from the diminished sevenths!!! Amyony got a good way to remember them?!

I'd have to vote bassoon, i'd love to play it but i think carrying round a full size cello at under 13 is enough for me! ( or should i say for my arms!)
The clarinet follows straight after in second place though!

How could a higher % of people prefer the oboe to the sax?
I play both and think that sax is definately the better: it is easier, has a much better repertoire, and is just altogether great and much better to the oboe.
I also feel sorry for the double basson, with 0%! Is it really that bad or does no one play it?
