I'm very new to this and I'm not entirely sure what I should be looking for. I want to start studying but I have had a look at the ABRSM courses and they all look like I should of done my grade 6 theory which I haven't (I only did Grade 5). I'm interested in studying at uni part time in the evenings but have no idea where to start looking.
Any ideas on courses (I'm living in London)?????

You mean theory of music type of courses. There was a thread a bit back. I did the Dip Mus with the OU which I thought very good, but you have to be disciplined.

I had lessons in the evenings in one of the music colleges in London - this was to get a diploma. Used to go up after work. You could try getting prospectuses from the various colleges to see if they've got anything suitable. You don't give many details about yourself and what you've already done, so it's a bit difficult to be specific.

Have you tried adult education programmes? Our local university does classes in Musicianship, covering grades 6 and 7 of the Associated Board syllabus. This includes music theory, aural skills, sight singing, keyboard harmony and an outline history of music. You get credits towards diplomas and certificates too. You could see if any of your local universities or colleges do the same sort of thing. biggrin.gif

The OU do a range of music courses. My sig gives away the one I am about to embark on... They are all very modular and make it easy to build up the credits into a diploma, honours or masters degree..

I have been looking at the OU Dip, would you mind telling me what you thought of it, how much studying you had to do, was it very difficult, which module did you choose for the Level 3 part etc.............. huh.gif blink.gif
