You'll probably find it harder if you do chop your fingers off
I play it slower than it's meant to go and still with a fair few wrong notes. Maybe one day it will go fast and right...

If you can play it already but at a slower pace, than that's very good. I wouldn't even go near it cos it's so difficult. Practice makes perfect eh?

Thats a difficult movement to play. Maybe if you can't play it up to speed you need to develop your technique. What grade are you?

Yeah, I am learning it at the moment for my diploma, it is lovely to play, but I also end up missing some notes out. I guess it is just practice, but can fingers actually go that fast ?!

there's no overnight cure i'm afraid. it's more important to establish precision and rythm and technical security before adding speed though, as these are much more difficult to remedy later. if it's totally secure at a slower speed, then build the tempo slowly until you reach the correct speed, whatever that is. you don't need to play as fast as some recordings, just at whatever speed you feel is best for the piece. good luck

avoid hand straining at all costs otherwise that'll damage the hands!

Yes. It's interesting that so much is expended on how to play the physical keys but so little to how and what to relax when notes are not being played and when you take a break, how to relax as much of your body as you use playing.

I have the same problem - not helped by the fact that i can't memorise music so have to stare intently at the music. If I could look at my hands whilst playing this movement I would probably be better. Good luck.
