How do all you experienced ones *bows down low* teach starter flautists how to breathe low? A friend suggested saying to them to pretend they have 'brick' in their stomach and to push out against it - another said to tell them they have a pump in their stomach and they need to breathe low to pump it up ... Any suggestions here? Please? I'm starting a 'proper' teaching job ie in a school, under a concert band insurance tomorrow week and I@m scared (even though I've taught privately at home now for a year) But I've been recommended by my Head of Dept in college, so Iwant to make sure I do a good job!
