You learn the piano. Quickly. tongue.gif

If we all have to use our own instruments I'm having interesting thoughts about what to do with a flute, five different sized recorders and a piano.

And what about the poor singers? How do you hide behind a voice? biggrin.gif

Some of the wannabee opera -types that hung out in the coffee shop when I was at college seemed to manage it pretty well - !

aahhh this is scaring me now! why did i start on about a calendar?!
just hope it's not chilly for the next forum users get-together...
Amber
I'll do it [she says bravely]

By the way, did I mention that I am a keen player of the Large-Sheet-Of-Metal as made famous by Rolf Harris. You know the instrument - you shake it and it goes "wockawockawocka". A beautiful instrument, it will make a lovely photo for the calendar. By the way, I play the Bass version, which is the Very-Large-Sheet-Of-Metal.

I'm happy to kick the calendar off and be Miss January, coz that's my birthday month.

One down 11 to go.

Shall I be Miss December then (my birthday month)??

Hmmm a good excuse to get the viola I keep being tempted by, its a little bigger than the violin (I think treble recorder would not cover the necessary, even though the necessary in my case does not take too much covering (soz, too much information I fear))

Can't see any guys out there vcolunteering??? rolleyes.gif
Semele
I'll volunteer for June.

Come on,guys,where are you?
Deborah
Looks like I'd better get saving for a contrabass clarinet to hide behind!

Hi Suzy

More:

Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.

Interviewer: "So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?"
FZ: "You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?"

Why do you necessarily have to be wrong just because a few million people think you are?

There are more love songs than anything else.
If songs could make you do something we'd all love one another.

There is no h*ll. There is only France.

It has never mattered to me that thirty million people might think I'm wrong. The number of people who thought Hitler was right did not make him right... Why do you necessarily have to be wrong just because a few million people think you are?

I don't think there's a problem. First of all, I don't think music turns people into social liabilities. Because you hear a lyric -- there's no medical proof that a person hearing a lyric is going to act out the lyric. There's also no medical proof that if you hear any collection of vowels and consonants, that the hearing of that collection is going to send you to h*ll.

Remember there's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over.

Anyone who is disturbed by the idea of newts in a nightclub is potentially dangerous.

More Frank

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say that there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.

Some people crave baseball - I find this unfathomable but I can easily understand why a person could get excited about playing a bassoon

Let's have a bit of Bowie -

"still don't know what I was waiting for
And my time was running wild
A million dead-end streets
Every time I thought I'd got it made
It seemed the taste was not so sweet
So I turned myself to face me
But I've never caught a glimpse
Of how the others must see the faker
I'm much too fast to take that test!"
