Just worked out how to post photos directly onto the baord, rather tahn puting a link. Dont thing the site I usually use to host photos can support direct linking.

Anyway - a silly photo to start thread off.

This is me in the role of Dr Octavius Tootle in Tayport Amateur Musical Societies Pantomine last year. The show was Beauty and the Beast and Dr Tootle was a travelling quack doctor who sold his patent pending 'Kareoke Candy' wich (temporarily) gave people the power to sing wonderfully. His Daughter (Bonnie Tootle) was the Beauty of the title.

So how did you do that StuMac?
StuMac
You have to put them on a web site like www.photobucket.com that gives you am "IMG" link which you just copy into the message. The Photo host on BTOpenworld doesn't seem to let you do it.
Trebor
Yeah, I tend to use Imageshack which is the same idea. It also gives you the text to show thumbnails of the images with the option to link to the main picture like so:

How do you put photos up by the way...

Use the IMG link when you post. I think it has to be from an internet site though...altough you can post from your own files if its your profile pic! smile.gif

awww!!! they're so cute! you could put them together and sell a teddies-and-music calendar! you'd make a fortune!! biggrin.gif

That's an idea!!!!

I'm a member of an organisation and once suggested compiling an "alternative" calendar to help the Cause and raise some funds.

It was looked into seriously, but it would cost quite a lot of money upfront.Sadly, the idea was abandoned.

I wonder whether the AB has considered a calendar?Perhaps the money could be donated to musical charities and so forth. I would buy one for definite.
crazy cow
nice idea! AB would be a good group to sell calendars too as they already have a lot of marketing! they could sell them through music shops! biggrin.gif
Semele
Yep! it would be a good idea. Then us teachers wouldn't forget exam deadlines or have panic attacks.

Christine. If you are reading this,do you think it's a good idea? And how about diaries or refills for Filofaxes? tongue.gif

I love stationary. I go into stationers just to look at the pens and stuff.
Amber
We could have a Forum Users calendar, just like the W.I. one (in the film Calendar Girls). We'd all have to get our kit off, and be artfully photographed behind strategically placed music stands and musical instruments, so that nothing naughty really shows.

Suepea's husband could be the photographer coz he's really good at it.

For my photo I'd like to hide behind a Double Bass with just my arms and legs sticking out each side, and my head poking up over the top.

where would he/she stick the beater?
one doesn't want to lose one's triangle beater. nothing so frustrating as coming to that important 'dinggggg' and you forgot where you left the beater...

huh.gif
Amber
Another Forum User could hold the beater for her.

All very artistically posed of course, with soft diffused light and so on.

Hmm Partita. . . .absolutely no comment.

I see everyone has cottoned on to my original idea, although species of the male family are welcome to join in.

Now where is that hat, raybans and sax? smile.gif

I wonder whether Steve would pose with me and Suzy.I would be in the middleof course.

That would make sense, wouldn't it Sbhoa and other members we have met...(smirking)....?
Boo Radley
I wonder if she would play Air on a G String. . .
Semele
Heavens! G Strings are so uncomfortable, and I can't see the point of wearing them as there is hardly anything of them.So why bother?

Good grief. She looks about 14...

Looking at her website she obviously isn't (anymore, anyway) but (call me old fashioned) it seems a shame when we start using the same techniques to sell classical music as people use to sell cars to chaps - ie, nubile young wimmin. *sigh*

Thank you Amber.

I'll let him know when he comes in from Camera Club. I'm sure he'll be interested. Perhaps everyone could come along and make it one of the club's Studio Sessions. I'll bring my cello (or if anyone's modest they could peep out from behind the piano in the hall)

It's kinda scary, I could really see this happening....!

Love your sig by the way, only just noticed it! Surreal but funny.
andante_in_c
If we all have to use our own instruments I'm having interesting thoughts about what to do with a flute, five different sized recorders and a piano.

And what about the poor singers? How do you hide behind a voice? biggrin.gif
