A fairly typical major chord progression can be:
ii, V, iii, iv, IV, ii, V, I
Flows well using the following inversions:
iia, Vb, iiia, ivb, IVa, iic, Va, Ib
It's a bit of a 'standard' chord sequence though, so try changing some of the chords slightly (augment etc)/altering which note is in the bass to make it a bit more interesting
