Yes my Dad and I both have pilot's licences, and we went flying from Teesside a couple of weeks afo.

StuMac: brilliant! I've only been up in a light aircraft once, but it was exciting, and the views were fantastic.

Durham is in the North East of England, near Newcastle.

Quite a few people who post here went to University there!

I found looking at college again quite scary, but my 'other half' was disappointed not to be able to see the lake at Van Mildert. We were surprised at the new buildings as it's quite a number of years since we were there.

Lovely pictures Stumac - I did the summer school one year and stayed in the castle for a week! Beautiful city.

My mum and sister went to Durham University - and hubby had a house there before we got married. Lovely city.

I was at Trevs myself during the girls only years - that's showing my age!

Yes Trevs was girls only in my day too - what's more Aidens only had maidens!

I did an OU summer school in Durham a few years ago and stayed in Hatfield (I think!) Would that be right? We used to rehearse in a very small house which was right on the green, outside the Cathedral. And we sang and perfomed in another building which was right next to the Cathedral entrance - can't remember what it was called though. It was a really good week, in beautiful surroundings. I remember climbing up to the top of the Cathedral one day too!

Rosemary, that sounds about right - Hatfield is on the Bailey, and close to the cathedral.

Durham is gorgeous it's too long since I've been!!!
