Seussical the Musical
Wow! I accompany the med school choir at Christmas, the musical (42nd Street this year), and our annual variety show for soloists/groups/dancers etc. Also my students sitting other exams if they want/need me to do it.

I do but not quite like yours.
I play as rehearsal pianist for our National Youth Theatre and second keyboard in the band which plays at the show.  We are doing Annie in a couple of weeks .. then Seussical the Musical which is awesome music to play. smile.gif
I have also accompanied a friend on piano for a singing competition ( nothing very major) last week.  That was my first go at doing that ( practised with her a lot) and it was good fun.  Just think if she goes on to be a famous singer I will be able to say I have been her accompanist  rolleyes.gif

Did you enjoy it Melody Maker?? I am so excited .. two and a half weeks to go! We have 2 keyboards, drums and a bass guitarist in our little show band. What did you have?
The hardest thing is transposing the songs when different people are singing ( we are double cast ) .. but good for transposing by sight and sight reading practise. Plus we play on this bit of a 'wing' thing on the side of the stage so we are in full view .. well that's the idea but last show no-one even saw me as the bass guitarist was in front! rolleyes.gif My favourite bit is the Megamix

We did Annie in high school! I was 2nd piano rolleyes.gif

I've been asked to accompany a friend in her final year performance assessment (she likens it to a dissertation). I'm scared! She's short-listing her repertoire at the moment... unsure.gif

I a bit behind here but I love the Poulenc sonata for flute. The only piano accompaniment I can play is to 'walking in the air' from 'the snowman'. Mind you, I've only been playing piano for about 6 months!

The Poulenc clarinet sonata is also brilliant - the slow movement plus the one from the flute sonata are absolutely beautiful! Poulenc really could compose gorgeous melodies!
