Biography
b. 1942 Victoria, Gozo. Received early musical training from his father, then attended the London College of Music and University of Durham. Later studied composition with Franco Donatoni and conducting with Franco Ferrara in Siena. Active as composer and conductor, travelling widely. Musical Director of Astra Opera Theatre, Gozo, and Professor of Music at University of Malta. Has undertaken pioneering work in revival of early Maltese music. Works have been recorded, and are performed throughout Europe, the USA and Japan. Output includes works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo instruments, chorus and voice.
