Adeline Wong

Biography

b. 1975 Kuala Lumpur. Began playing piano at age of five. Studied at Eastman School of Music, USA; later in London at the Royal College of Music, where she obtained MMus and was awarded the Cobbett and Hurlstone Composition Prize. Composition teachers have included Edwin Roxburgh, Joseph Schwanter, Christopher Rouse, David Liptak, Augusta Read Thomas and John Sharpley. Also active as pianist, and is lecturer at a number of Malaysian institutions. Works have been performed in Malaysia, the USA and Europe. Output includes works for music theatre, orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo instruments and voice, as well as music for film.
