Detlev Glanert
Biography
Detlev Glanert was born in Hamburg, Germany and started composing at the age of twelve years. Detlev played trumpet and euphonium in the fire brigade band. Further instruments were double bass, piano, flue and percussion.
Detlev studied composition for four years with Hans Werner Henze and later with Diether de la Motte, Günter Friedrichs and Frank Michael Beyer.
Detlev was co-organiser of Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte, Montepulciano from 1989 until 1992. Compositions include operas, works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, chorus, voice and solo instruments.
