Biography
b. 1949 Ringsted, Denmark. Sang with Copenhagen Boys Choir and studied organ and piano at Odense Academy. Self-taught in composition. In 1975 graduated as organist from Royal Danish Conservatory, Copenhagen. Recipient of several important commissions, and his works are regularly performed. Large output includes opera and many works for orchestra, as well as music for chamber ensembles, solo instruments, voice and chorus. His BBC-commissioned Concerto in Pieces was performed at the 1996 Last Night of the Proms.
