Alan Ridout

Biography

Alan Ridout, studied under Gordon Jacob and Herbert Howells at the Royal College of Music, and was awarded the Netherlands Government scholarship in 1958. He composed a wide range of choral and orchestral music, and was particularly successful in writing for children.
He died in 1996, aged 61.
