Alan Bullard
Biography
Alan Bullard studied composition at the Royal College of Music with Herbert Howells, and later at Nottingham University with Arnold Whittall. He was Head of Composition at Colchester Institute School of Music for many years, teaching on post-graduate, undergraduate and A level courses, but now works primarily as a composer and ABRSM examiner. His music, both instrumental and choral, is widely performed, and appears on a number of recordings. In 2008 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Essex for his work as a composer and music educator.
