Biography
b. 1961 Stockport. Brought up in Suffolk, where he was leader of Suffolk Youth Orchestra. Studied composition, singing and violin at University of York; later studied in Cologne with Mauricio Kagel, whose works he has both directed and perfomed. Much involved in theatre and visual arts, both as performer and composer. Has been recipient of Fulbright Fellowship in Composition, Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award and Arts Foundation Composer Fellowship. Has written for orchestra, chamber ensembles and solo instruments; also music-theatre, dance, film and radio. Composer-in-Association with the Bournemouth Orchestras, 1995-6.
