Teaching Music Effectively in Indonesia
The 2007-2008 Indonesia Teaching Music Effectively course finished on January 13th. Participant teachers were able to broaden their horizons and enhance their skills as musical educators by exploring a variety of exciting teaching techniques over the three month period of study.
Teaching Music Effectively is held annually by the Associated Board and places a particular emphasis on allowing teachers to realise their full potential by improving communication with their pupils and employing new devices and methods to maximise their lesson productivity.
The programme was extremely well received by those involved,
with one teacher commenting that her confidence had significantly increased after completing the course and another remarking that he had left with a number of new ideas and techniques to test out in his own lessons.
All those who successfully completed the course were presented with an anniversary paper weight from Bali and a certificate of achievement to mark their success. The concluding dinner at the poolside on the third floor of Aryaduta Hotel in Jakarta was particularly notable both for the emotional nature of the farewells between course students and for the lack of food left remaining at the end!
