Hi. I want to buy a good set of bass guitar strings for my daughter-in-law to be! As a violinist I know the world of difference between a cheap and rather nasty violin string and, say, a Dominant etc. Thanks

Strings are very much personal taste combined with style and influenced by the instrument! It is very difficult to just say X is best...........

Bass strings are much less expensive than violin or cello strings. The basic question is whether flat wound or not. There are bass forums where you could ask eg basschat
