Calm, somewhat overcast, and had rained overnight, but even milder. We actually got to 15.8 deg C mid afternoon, though I understand at Aboyne in Aberdeenshire, a record February temperature (for Scotland) of 18.3 was reached . Pressure has been rising since lunchtime , is now 1026 mB

It's all wrong, I tell you -wrong!
One shouldn't be feeling overdressed in an overcoat in February.

It was my 40th wedding anniversary last weekend, and on that day in 1979 the bridegroom had to decamp to his parents' house to get ready, as the pipes in his house were solid ice and the water in his lavatory had frozen in the bowl. The shovelled snow was several feet deep by the sides of the roads as we made our careful way to Scarborough having abandoned our original honeymoon plans due to impossible weather conditions.
Happy days...

Stormy. So no ferries = no papers + empty supermarket shelves.

What happens during an extended period of poor weather?

In my part of the world its a little chilly but dry and sunny.

Rather overcast, but continuing mild, temp currently 13.6 deg C . Felt cooler this morning as there was a light breeze, but the trees aren't moving at all now. Pressure is fairly steady at 1028.4mB

Frosty this morning but blue sky and sunny all day. A chilly wind though, straight from Siberia I guess. According to Mr.G there is stilll snow about in the woods where the sun cannot get at it.

The hang-gliders like it though. They must be mad.

Very very foggy when I left the house at 6.30am - but lovely to have it almost light in the mornings now.

By the time I left work at 4pm it was very mild and bright.

Something bothers me about spring having sprung in the middle of February...

They normally sail in poor weather - just not very stormy weather. We learn to keep things in (tinned goods + frozen) so it's usually just milk and fresh foods we're short of. But as it happens, the weather here tends to change quite quickly, and Caledonian MacBrayne are usually pretty good about getting the ferry across when there is a brief lull.

Frosty again early this morning. Sunny now. Bit of cloud about but 8° which is nice. Feels much warmer in the sun which makes it difficult to decide what to wear.
