I can't understand how everything can be so wet when it hasn't actually rained (at least while I have been awake) for nearly a week.

Very cold wind here, although dry and pleasant - cloudy all day.

Looking forward to a month's time when the days start to get longer (and we're not even at shortest day yet!)

Later edit  14.10.....    Only managed to reach 4.8 deg C

Sunny but rather cold. It will undoubtedly get colder this winter!

No... please don't be sad! The rain is outside! You are inside! It can be whatever you think it should be as long as you don't have to stand out in it!!! I hope today it's sunshine for you - in and out!! But if not out at least in!!! smile.png

Very cold here - struggling to reach 3C (I have to convert from F) - froze overnight. The chill factor in the wind makes it feel a couple of degrees below freezing. It's bitterly cold and I know that as I stupidly took a load of pots and hanging baskets to our shed which is some distance from the house... It's definitely one of those days to stay snug inside!

Thank you Zixi. The problem is I live right out in the countryside and when it rains continually (as it quite often does here ) there is mud everywhere - quite a lot of it on my kitchen floor. And I have a delighful little dog who simply won't go out to do the necessary unless I go with her! And then when we come in she is soaked to the skin and has to be picked up and dried. If I am not quick enough to pick up the towel she makes it quite plain that I am failing in all my duties. I seem to do nothing but take my slippers and boots on and off! Mind you, I wouldn't change where I live for anything but it would be nice to have a dry, sunny, windy day to clear up the mess!

Sorry. Has to edit as i didn't realize I had typed inside the quote box.

@Aquarelle - If the avatar is your dog then she's gorgeous! Ours is a small collie size. We live next to a bridle path and fields so I understand the mud! You wouldn't think that fields could get *that* muddy! I hope you get some sun soon and a nice wind!!!

It rose to 4.4C overnight and is now 1.6C. Absolutely beautiful light here!!!
