Orient lost to Boreham Wood in the early kick-off - that opens the door for Salford to go top of they can beat Chesterfield...

Salford are losing !   Wrexham winning, Harrogate drawing.   

 In League 2, its high time Tranmere knocked one in at home to lowly Cambridge !

Yay Tranmere scored 84th minute !   James Norwood again, he must be goals leader in that division.

 

And thats the result -  squeezes us back into the last play off position

 

Later edit, James Norwood  has 15 goals, next nearest 11.

Worrying times for Reading as we slip back in the drop zone with defeat to Sheff Utd in the late kick-off.

Salford are losing !   Wrexham winning, Harrogate drawing.  

Thank goodness Salford lost as well. Harrogate did win in the end, so they along with Wrexham have closed the gap to 4 points.

 

Chesterfield are having an extraordinary unbeaten run - their last 10 league games since 29th Sep: 1-1, 0-0, 1-1, 1-1, 1-1, 1-1, 0-0, 1-1, 1-1, 2-0. Yet they're still 5th from bottom!

Oh dear , losing 2 - 1 at lowly Notts C. Was hoping for all 3 points today

 

Later edit,  Ooh equalised now, can we get a winner......?

 

Oh no!!  Given away a penalty  3 - 2 down now

 

LOST 3 -2.  Out of the play off positions. But I suppose to lose only 6 games out of 22 , having been promoted isn't too bad !

argh.gif Another 2 points dropped for Reading as we conceded in the 90th minute against Rotherham...

 

Leyton Orient were in FA Trophy action today, and we started off with a 4-0 win against Beaconsfield (a town I know nothing about laugh.png).

Hmm... Orient have been drawn away to Wrexham in the next round of the FA Trophy. Not a tie either side wanted, given both of us are fighting to get back into the Football League.

 

Promotion is more important financially than winning the Trophy.

I have some sympathy with Mourinho this time around as I'm not sure the players were giving 100%. Still they know full well that if they don't like the coach they can just take their foot off the pedal and wait for the coach to be dismissed. Come on Liverpool is what I say.

Soskjaer has been appointed Man Utd caretaker manager until the end of the season. He'll have a tough job on his hands - he didn't do well at Cardiff.

 

Meanwhile, Burton have made the League Cup semi-finals after beating Middlesbrough. Nigel Clough seems to like this competition - he took Sheff Utd to the semi-finals as well four seasons ago!

Reading lost 1-0 against Boro in a game we probably should've won. Following the game, we have now appointed Jose Gomes as our new manager. Yes, I had to look up who he is as I've never heard of him - he was manager of Primeira League side Rio Ave since June and was briefly assistant manager of Malaga under Manuel Pellegrini. So who knows if he will turn out fortunes around. Massive game next for us against Millwall, who are only keeping us out of the drop zone on goal difference...

 

Meanwhile, Orient go 4 points clear at the top after beating Chesterfield, and a huge thanks to Dagenham for beating Salford. Hopefully they will now let us win both our games when we clash during the festive period...biggrin.png

Good win for Tranmere at last, lifts them to 8th.  Also a 4 - 0 win for Wrexham in the Conference.  But CE will not be happy with his teams...

Yep, not a good day for them. A change of manager has not had an effect yet, plus we had two players sent off. Slipped to 23rd now.

 

Orient were beaten by an in form Dagenham side. Wrexham are now 3 points behind with a game in hand.

 

Elsewhere, Man City have now lost 2 league games in a row after their unbeaten start. Liverpool (still unbeaten themselves), are now 6 points clear!

 

Great comebacks from the top two in the Championship as well - both Leeds and Norwich scored two goals in stoppage time!
