Tractor man has just phoned back! I told him I was a piano teacher and that a new tractor would be great but maybe a bit high budget for my herbaceous border. It gave him a laugh anyway!

What's Made You Happy Today.... ?

Well, I hadn't thought of a name for my lawn tractor but "Dandelion" would suit her because she is that colour. However it will have to be in English as I can't really call her "####enlit."
Edit: Pi-ss-enlit.

Went for routine eye test and to choose new spec frames. For the first time ever, my favourite frames were in the cheap section. Yay! Much preferred my £59 ones to the £300+ selection. Even got new music glasses with edgy frames for bargain price.
Much cheered.

I've learnt a new French word today! Can't wait to find an opportunity to use it.

Do you know the French equivalent of "It's raining cats and dogs."?

It wouldn't be 'Il pleut les chats et les chiens' would it? That would be un peu trop obvious. Is it something to do with frogs? ( grenouilles)

Have taken the plunge and bought an acoustic upright after many years of shopping. I initially went to the dealer to try a 2010 Haessler (Bluthner) upright, which is very nice, but I liked the tone of the Petrof uprights much more! So I have bought a Petrof 122.
I do have to wait for delivery though as I am having a new kitchen fitted in 3 weeks (yay! no more brown and floral!) Lots of happy things

Well done; Petrofs have good reputations. I keep thinking about a Cavendish baby grand but then I think about the space it would take up.

@Norway - you have such an exciting life! No one ever offers me a tractor...
@ejw21 - Congrats on the new additions!
And I'm happy because the sun is shining, I had my hair cut and best of all it's our girl's second Gotcha Day and she loved her new toy. Happy Gotcha Day little one! And loads more with us. You're special!

If it helps, I did try a Cavendish upright and it was really very good. I can imagine the grands would be excellent. But yes, space - unless I get rid of all my other furniture a grand isn't an option!

Last time I visited that particular dealership I came away with a puncture in a rear tyre ! I did try the baby grand and it was very nice indeed. They take a lot of time to regulate the action and voice the hammers.
