We have a thread for proposed musical challenges - how about one for non-musical challenges?

I would like to do a tandem skydive. eek.gif I suspect the first part is going to be the most problematic - getting my GP to agree and sign the form!

That's so brave! ohmy.png

I'm hoping to do something to help the homeless of my town this year, although quite what I'm not sure. It will probably involve tins and food banks, or participation in a charity concert. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has any ideas or experience. .

Does leaving teaching and starting all over again count?

Suppose your GP doesn't want to do a skydive? Couldn't you do it with someone else? rofl.gif   My challenge is to get to grips with Wordpress. I'm trying to create a simple website and have a basic page but I want to add a few more pages and make it look prettier. I've borrowed several Wordpress books from the library. Just need to find the time to sit down and go through them little by little.

Learning to say "no" to things I don't want to do, without feeling guilty, so I have time to do things that are better for me. [This sounds selfish, but I would like just a bit of me time.]

According to the literal definition of selfish, it is, but I think that's a good thing... why should we be obliged to tend to other people before ourselves, all the time?

The phrase I like is "you are not obliged to set yourself on fire so that others can keep warm"

Spending less time on "friends" who endlessly talk about themselves and thier problems, without wanting to listen to mine or letting me get a word in edgeways in conversations. Spending more time engaging in genuine friendships.

Too right. I did this a few years ago. Very glad I did.

My challenges for this year:-

1) Start managing my money better (i.e no unnecessary spending on things like chocolate or crisps)

2) Work on managing my time better (i.e try to not be late for things)

3) Hopefully start learning how to drive (It's taken me 6 years to get to this point. I want to be driving by 2020 but i honestly don't think it's going to happen that quick)

lol They are for me. I'm about 2 stone overweight which is mostly due in part to the amount of chocolate and (share bag size) crisps I eat. Most of my money goes on food.
