Orient beat Wrexham in the FA Trophy, so on we go to the next round. Knowing our luck, we'll get Salford next...

Nope, we've got the mighty Blyth Spartans next, who knocked out Boreham Wood in the last round.

David Wagner has left Huddersfield. 8 points from safety - they look pretty doomed now...

Tranmere going from bad to worse losing at home to Swindon.  Now down to 10th (League 2). Jame Norwood did score again to remain leagues leading scorer .

National League is opening up rather after todays results.

National League is opening up rather after todays results.

Yes, we lost to Ebbsfleet, and Solihull are suddenly level on points with us at the top - they scored their winner in the 93rd minute as well! Fylde beat Wrexham and have now moved above them in the table. Wrexham themselves have now lost 4 in a row! Solihull play Fylde next weekend...

Reading lost to Derby and remain in the relegation zone. Bolton next - massive game...

Orient got back to winning ways to beat Maidstone and move 3 points clear! :D

A few upsets in the FA Cup - Millwall score in the last minute to knock out Everton, and Newport did likewise to take Boro to a replay. Also, it's funny how Wolves can manage to beat the Premier League leaders Liverpool in the last round, and then in this round, almost lose to Shrewsbury (18th in League One).

Well there's one tie that certainly stands out, and once again it involves Man Utd! What an incentive for whoever wins the Boro-Newport replay - mind you, it would be Boro's third meeting in the Cup with the reigning PL champions in the last 5 seasons!

FA Cup Fifth Round Draw

Chelsea v Manchester United

Middlesbrough or Newport County v Manchester City

Doncaster Rovers v Crystal Palace

Portsmouth or Queens Park Rangers v Watford

Bristol City v Shrewsbury Town or Wolverhampton Wanderers

Brighton & Hove Albion or West Bromwich Albion v Derby County

AFC Wimbledon v Millwall

Swansea v Barnet or Brentford

Reading missed the opportunity to climb out of the drop zone after conceding a 92nd minute equaliser against Bolton...argh.gif

Man City lost at Newcastle - can Liverpool take advantage tonight to go 7 points clear?

Not really, Liverpool were held to a draw by Leicester.

As you say CE Liverpool drew (OH was at the match), Watford that I support lost, but the bright point of the evening was that DS in his university 5 a side (or however many a side) won 4-3. There's always a bright side!! biggrin.png

Reading's goalless draw with Aston Villa was not enough to move us out of the drop zone as Rotherham also drew 0-0...

Orient squeeze through to the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy with a late goal against Blyth. At the moment, we are the only National League side through due to upsets/postponements!

I've just noticed that amazingly, after 30 games, two local neighbours and old enemies - Birmingham and Aston Villa - have almost exactly the same record after 30 games!

At home, they've both won 6, drawn 7 and lost 2, and away, they've both won 4, drawn 6 and lost 5. It's just a shame there's a difference of 2 in their goal difference!

Meanwhile, one East Anglian team is top of the league and the other is propping up the table. And it's the East Anglian derby next weekend...

Tranmere are at home to Northampton tonight, they really must get on track with a win.  Dropped to 10th after being in top four early season

Later edit, aaaaaaaaaaaaagh  we are 1 - 2 down just before half time

My colleague at work pointed out to me that, of the top 5 leagues in English football, the names of the leaders all start with the letter L. And there are only 6 teams that start with that letter in the Prem, Championship, League 1,2 and the National League!
