Wet yet again. I thin this is one of the wettest springs I can remember here. I can't cut the grass and my roses are almost horizontal.

The south-east of England, where I have spent the last few days, has been suffocatingly hot - I'm not used to it! Glad to get back home today to stunning weather with a nice cooling breeze. Also, too many thunderstorms in the sunny south, resulting in lots of flight delays.mad.gif

I am beginning rather desperately to wonder if the rain will ever stop. It has been practically continuous for three weeks. The grass is knee high in some places and thigh high in others and no chance of cutting. The ground is sodden. Parts of the fields are like lakes. We have flood warnings today but fortunately we are on high ground well away from the nearest rivers.

Severe flooding in our area. fortunately no lives lost but a great deal of damage and a lot of people evacuated..  We are OK as we are well above the river but when I drove over the bridge on my way to school there was not one river, but two - the second one flowing equally fast alongside the original from which it is separated by a fairly high bank and some trees. The main square of our nearest small town and the surrounding streets were under nearly two metres of water this morning.

Goodness! Take care. Hope it goes down soon.

Thanks Banjogirl. The water does seem to be receding. I crossed the bridge again this morning and the second river has disappeared leaving a field of mud. It was an area recently planted with maize which was  a few centimetres high but is now flattened.
