Yes I know what you mean! I'm already thinking that I've only one more grade to go before my regular "fix" comes to an end.... sad.gif I'm looking forward to studying for G6 but there'll probably be a gap of a couple of years before I'm ready to take it.

Are you going to do the higher grades cat_loves_flute? wink.gif

Edit: Love your new signature! biggrin.gif

my signature? Thanks! biggrin.gif

I am going to do the higher grades, straight after my grade 5 exam i hot-footed it into town and bought the grade 6 books! But they look hard, i'm stuck in a rut without a teacher (my flute teacher who helped me with grade 5 has only done grade 5 so far) so not sure what i'm gonna do. I've got my degree do think of (it's my final year) plus my grade 6 flute, grade 4 singing and a possible clarinet grade this year tongue.gif so maybe I'll wait til I'm done studying - I want a first! But if someone explains figured bass to me, I might be persuaded to do a little grade 6 theory now...!

When is your exam... this term? When do you have to have grade 5 by?

I'm doing G4 in November, then I'm aiming to do G5 next summer. I'm an adult learner, doing it for fun rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif, so I don't have to have a definite timescale.

I've already got a G6 past paper to see what it's like, and I picked up a G6 study book in a second hand shop a week or two ago. Difficult, but interesting! tongue.gif

There's a lot to be said that's positive about music theory - you do get to learn so much about how music is constructed. smile.gif

You may add me to your ever-expanding list skylark. smile.gif
