Today was my wife's 70th birthday, she was 21 when I met her.   We had  a lunch out then son, his wife and granddaughters came round in evening with more presents and we had cake and candles etc

More news today is that my son, also mentioned in previous post,  has heard he has been accepted for next years London Marathon.

Taking possession of an exceedingly shiny, brand-new and fairly high-tech RED CAR.

Exciting MUCH!!!

Just what I needed at the end of a stressful day.

Fitting new strings to my violin. Downside of course is the unstable tuning and metallic sound that comes with it for the first 2-4 days.

Dominants for the lower 3 strings with a Kaplan Golden Spiral E. I once bought the non whistling E in error and found n difference compared to the standard version which is half the price.

That setup was the one my most recent teacher uses and I gave it a go and it works really well. I tried one of recommendations from a luthier which was £80 a set and was a terrible match for my violin.

Found - reliable lady to do pile of ironing for small fee.woot.gif

I'm suffering from end-of-half-term-itis. We've had unexpected visitors for the past 2 weekends, plus another who rolled up in September, plus organ builders staying over (argh) at the same time as unexpected visitor number 1. I've run out of energy and time in a serious way, and I've more visitors at the start of next week.sad.png

Decided yesterday evening enough was enough and plucked up the courage to approach ironing person.

Therefore, I've had the time to dismantle the tomato plants and enjoy a bit of fresh air, rather than being glued to ironing board. biggrin.png
