In UK you can use the syllabus also for the first exam session (session A) of the next year, ie till Easter 2015

The 2015-2016 piano pieces will be published in July. http://gb.abrsm.org/...yllabus-updates (under Syllabus updates: 2015)

Strange - surely they normally published every two years. ie 2015-16 would have to be published July this year (2014), are they going to run three years with present 2013-2014 syllabus ?  Or am I getting my pants twisted ?

Sorry f#m, maybe I'm being dense, but isn't this just running as normal? 2013-14 now, July this year 2015-16 come out, Spring of 2015 you can use both syllabuses... has someone suggested otherwise?

I'm new to this - just presumed they would be published every year with overlap... so basically I have to decide whether she would complete 2013-2014 pieces by first term of next year or go for the 2015-2016 pieces which don't start till about July this year? At least with the first period overlap I have an extra couple of months to what I thought I would have with this years pieces.

Yes thats right I misconstrued Tixys post and read it that new syllabus was being published in July 2015, but it should be this year of course. Pants were twisted

If you enter at a Special Visit, then the 2013-2014 pieces are valid until the Summer session of 2015.

No, the 2015-16 pieces are published in July this year (so that we can all start learning them) but they're not valid until next January (2015)

There is just the one term overlap (session A of the year) in which you can use the old syllabus or the new - a good thing for people who missed doing the old year's exams which they had prepared for, but anyone starting to prepare would be better advised to start with the new ones, in case they missed the firat exam of the year for any reason.

I posted this link a couple of days ago, and here it is again - the official here-in-black-and-white straight-from-the-horse's-mouth handy-cut-out-and-keep guide to syllabus overlap:
