Just signed up for Winter Saxes at Benslow in November.

Really excited but have no idea what to expect. Has anyone done this course before?

Not done that course before, lois, but it appears you are going to be taught/directed by Gerard McChrystal, and he is a brilliant saxophone teacher - he is up there with the very, very best in his field :)

I've never done that course (don't play sax!!) but I've been to Benslow many times. You will love it. I've never come across anyone unpleasant there, everyone is super friendly. The food is great, the staff are helpful, and the tutoring is wonderful. I'm attempting a course at the end of this month, the first advanced one that I've tried. Have a great time.

I keep meaning to go to Benslow. They have viol courses but only for pre-formed consorts. They have string quartet courses, but only for pre-formed quartets. I could get VERY cross. Some of us would like to play and can't find people to play with. It is very, very annoying.

The sax course looks ideal for me... but guess what - my big concert at Symphony Hall is on the Friday of that weekend, so that's that ruled out.
