Disappointed Tranmere lost first two matches, but Im not expecting miracles after two successive promotions.

Yep, Reading have lost their first two games as well. Hopefully results will start to improve...

Charlton seem to have adapted to life in the Championship very well so far...

Not a great night for our teams in the League Cup. Orient and Tranmere are out. Boro and Charlton both lost in a penalty shootout to League Two opposition.

Reading did get through, though, overcoming Wycombe on penalties. Derby are also through.

Would you believe it - Reading now have to travel to Plymouth, who knocked out Orient! My two teams haven't faced each other since 2000 - that run continues... just...

Well that's better from Tranmere, beating  Bollton 5 - 0, though Bolton are a club in considerable trouble financially and have been deducted 12 pts (like Bury, who may get thrown out of the League next week).

That's more like it from Reading - 3-0 against Cardiff! Our recent dip into the transfer market seems to have made a difference. Looks like George Puscas could end up being a very good signing for us...

That's probably our best performance for a while. If we can do that every week we'll be alright!

Wow, what a game it was at Field Mill this evening! Orient come back from 2-0 down to beat Mansfield 3-2 with a goal in the last minute of stoppage time! :D

I did actually attend a match at Field Mill once. In my days at Nottingham Uni, one Saturday neither Forest nor County were at home, so a couple of us went to Mansfield. Cant remember who they played now, or what the result was.  I also once attended a match at St Johnstone when I found myself on business in Perth midweek.

Most of my mates at uni came from Mansfield. They were keen on Mansfield Bitter.
