About results and certificates
We issue results as quickly as possible - but sometimes quality assurance checks can delay results by up to four weeks.
New logo in 2024 - for a short time candidates may receive a mark form with our new logo and a certificate with the previous logo. Both are valid.
Digital certificates - in 2024 we're introducing digital certificates with the option to order a paper certificate for £3 or equivalent. Follow the link below to find out more including the start date for your country.

All candidates receive a digital mark form
The mark form shows your marks and the examiner's comments. We send you an email when the mark form is ready to download in your account.
We aim to release results within one week of the exam date or the date when you submitted the video. However this can take up to 28 days. In busy periods, Performance Grade results may take longer.
We release results to the person who booked the exam first. Candidates with an account can access their results seven days later.
If you've booked exams for more than one candidate, we may not release all results at the same time. We'll email you every time results become available.
Candidates who pass also receive a certificate
If your country now has digital certificates - you can access the certificate through your account as soon as we release the mark form. You can then order a paper certificate for small charge.
If we haven’t introduced digital certificates for your country - we send a paper certificate to the person who booked the exam after we release the result.
Depending where you live, it can take between three weeks and three months for paper certificates to arrive.

We send you an email when your results are available to view in your account. Candidates with an account receive a results email seven days after the person who booked the exam.
Online exams (Grades 1 to 5)
- Results are usually available around four weeks after the exam date.
- You can view the result and download a PDF mark form online.
Paper-based exams (Grades 6 to 8)
- Results are usually available around four weeks after the exam date in the UK and around six weeks after the exam date in all other countries.
- You can view the result online. We then post a paper mark to the applicant with the certificate, if applicable.

There are no marks awarded for these assessments. Instead, examiners write comments on the certificate during the exam and hand this to the candidate at the end of their assessment.
Music Performance diplomas from 2024 (ARSM, LRSM, FRSM)

We release results as soon as they're available. This will be at least 14 days after you submitted your evidence. However, depending on the diploma level, results can take up to nine weeks.
We release results to the person who booked the exam first. Candidates with an account, entered by someone else, can access their results seven days later.
Candidates who pass their diploma also receive a certificate
If your country now has digital certificates - you can access the certificate through your account as soon as we release your result. We'll also send you a paper certificate automatically. There's no extra charge for this.

Previous diplomas ending 2024 (DipABRSM, LRSM, FRSM)
Candidates receive a paper mark showing the marks for each section of the exam with the examiner's comments. This can take up to three months. Candidates who pass their diploma also receive a paper certificate. We send the mark form and certificate to the person who booked the exam.
All candidates receive a digital mark form available to view and download online. Successful candidates also receive a medal and a certificate.
After we've finished our moderation process, we send the teacher-assessor an email confirming that their results are available. This is usually within a week of the submission date. Candidates with an account can view their mark form seven days after we've released it to the teacher-assessor.
We post medals and certificates to the teacher-assessor within a week of releasing the results.
