Digital certificates – we're introducing secure digital certificates for our exams. Once digital certificates are available in your country, the fees shown below for Practical, Performance and Music Theory Grades will include a digital certificate. Paper certificates will be available to order for £3 or the equivalent in the currency for your country. Find out more about digital certificates and when they start in your country.

Performance Grades / 线上演奏考级和线上ARSM文凭考试
Digital Performance Grades (including Jazz) and Music Performance ARSM diplomas are available on demand. There are no booking periods and exam sessions. Instead, you can book, pay and submit the exam video when you are ready. You can submit the video when you book or at any time during the following 28 days.
线上演奏等级和线上 ARSM 文凭考试均为按需报考，没有固定的报名或考试时段。考生准备就绪后可以随时随地报名、支付考试费用和提交考试视频。 成功报名后，考生有28天时间提交考试视频。

Online Music Theory (Grades 1-5) / 线上乐理考试（第1-5级）
Online Music Theory exams are available on demand. You can book at any time. After booking, candidates have 28 days to take their exam. They can choose any date and time during this period.

Diplomas
Music Performance ARSM – digital exams are available on demand. You can book at any time. You then have 28 days to submit your exam video. For face-to-face exams, see ‘Practical Grades’.
New diplomas from 2024 – you can now book our new Music Performance LRSM and FRSM diplomas. These are digital assessments. You can book at any time. You then have 28 days to submit your performance video and supporting evidence. Our new ARSM, LRSM and FRSM diplomas in Teaching will be available to book from October 2024. We’ll provide more information about the new Directing diplomas when available. All new diplomas will be digital exams, available on demand.

Other fees and charges

The following charges should be paid direct to ABRSM's office in London by sterling draft presentable in the UK or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Sterling drafts should be payable to ‘The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music’.

International transaction fees
Exam booking and cancellation payments made through our online service are international transactions. Your bank, card issuer or PayPal may charge you for processing these transactions. These additional charges and any foreign exchange rate applied to the transaction are made by your bank, card issuer or PayPal and not by ABRSM. Charges will vary, depending on the payment method and the bank or institution you use to make the payment. Please refer to your bank, card issuer or PayPal for information about international transaction fees.
