About results and certificates
We issue results as quickly as possible - but sometimes quality assurance checks can delay results by up to four weeks.
New logo in 2024 - we're now issuing mark forms and certificates with our new logo. For a short time candidates may receive a mark form with our new logo and a certificate with the previous logo. All mark forms and certificates, with the old or new logo, are equally valid.

All candidates receive a mark form
The mark form shows your marks and the examiner's comments.
- We send you an email when the digital (PDF) mark form is ready to download in your account.
- We aim to release results within one week of the exam date or the date when you submitted the video. However this can take up to 28 days. In busy periods, Performance Grade results may take longer.
- We release results to the person who booked the exam first. Candidates with an account can access their results seven days later.
- If you book exams for more than one candidate, we may not release all results at the same time. We'll email you every time results become available.
Candidates who pass also receive a certificate
Between April and August 2024 we introduced digital certificates for all countries.
You can access your digital (PDF) certificate through your account as soon as we release the mark form.
- Digital certificates are secure and easy to print, store and share.
- They're also available for all previous exams booked with our current online service (from 2020 onwards).
You can order a paper certificate through your account for a small, additional charge.
Depending where you live, it takes between three weeks and three months for paper certificates to arrive.

We send you an email when your results are available to view in your account. Candidates with an account receive a results email seven days after the person who booked the exam.
Online exams (Grades 1 to 5)
- Results are usually available around four weeks after the exam date.
- You can view the result and download a digital (PDF) mark form through your account.
Paper-based exams (Grades 6 to 8)
- Results are usually available around four weeks after the exam date in the UK and around six weeks after the exam date in all other countries.
- You can view the result online in your account. We then post a paper mark form to the person who booked the exam (the applicant).
Candidates who pass also receive a certificate

There are no marks awarded for these assessments. Instead, examiners write comments on a paper certificate during the exam and hand this to the candidate at the end of their assessment.
Music Performance diplomas from 2024 (ARSM, LRSM, FRSM)
All candidates receive a mark form

We release results as soon as they're available. This will be at least 14 days after you submitted your evidence. However, depending on the diploma level, results can take up to nine weeks.
We release results to the person who booked the exam first. Candidates with an account, entered by someone else, can access their results seven days later.

Candidates receive a paper mark. This shows marks awarded for each section of the exam with the examiner's comments. Candidates who pass their diploma also receive a paper certificate. We send the mark form and certificate to the person who booked the exam. This can take up to three months.
All candidates receive a mark form
You can view and download the digital (PDF) mark forms in your account.
- After we've finished our moderation process, we send the teacher-assessor an email confirming that their results are available. This is usually within one week of the submission date.
- Candidates with an account can access their results seven days later.
Successful candidates also receive a certificate and medal
